The Minsk branch of the National Historical Archives of Belarus (NHAB) contains 30 Jewish metrical books from the city of Brest. These books contain birth, marriage and death records of not only residents of Brest, but also of many nearby towns, such as Kobrin and Gorodetz -- where the Palevsky families were primarily from.

The information below was obtained by Elise Friedman, Hariette Gershon and Michael Paley through a group research project in September 2004.
